That demand letter, in my view, downplayed or omitted serious injuries: my knee injury, seatbelt whiplash, and other documented damages.
The lawsuit sued the wrong person, setting the entire case up for failure from day one.
For more than a year, Shuman Legal failed to properly serve notice, which led to a DWP (Dismissed for Want of Prosecution) — a death sentence for that case unless you fight to reinstate.
During this time, my home was under remodeling (around 6/23/2022), I was missing physical therapy appointments, and I was counting on a settlement to pay medical bills.
According to my calculations, Shuman’s actions and inactions defrauded me of at least $46,400, plus years of my time, health, and opportunities. I’m not a lawyer. I’ve spent 35+ years as the client, not the attorney — yet I can spot errors that a first-year paralegal shouldn’t make.
And where is the accountability?
I submitted exhibits and evidence about this conduct.
I filed complaints showing wrong-party lawsuits, failure to serve, omissions of injuries, and financial damage.
In my experience, the IARDC has ignored or minimized this evidence, just as other oversight bodies have done with previous lawyers.

Now imagine a grown-up (your lawyer) is supposed to:

Help protect your Future Piggy Bank so no one steals from it.
But instead of doing that, here’s what they do:
They write the letter to the wrong person.
They don’t send the papers the right way, so the judge eventually says, “Case dismissed, nothing happens.”
While they’re messing up, your medical bills grow, your house is half-remodeled, and you’re in pain.
People who are supposed to protect your Future Piggy Bank (trust officers, other lawyers) argue, stall, and let other people take money that should be used to help you.
If you were the kid, how would you feel?
Your Everyday Piggy Bank runs out → stress, debt, credit cards.
Your Medical Piggy Bank gets nothing → you skip physical therapy and stay hurt.
Your Future Piggy Bank gets raided or delayed → you can’t plan, can’t breathe, can’t rest.
A good corporate trust officer or CPA would say it like this:
“Money coming in” = insurance claims, inheritances, settlements.

Back in 2006, I was spending serious money at Palm Beach Rejuvenation on HGH and testosterone, trying to repair my body and get my life back on track. I was investing in my health while my own lawyer, in my view, was investing in my destruction. I wasn’t a lawyer. I was a client who did what clients are told to do: pay the bill, trust the expert, show up when you’re told.
Then the avalanche got worse.
After corrupt Plainfield police broke into my Plainfield property, guns out, property damaged and everything taken, my nervous system finally snapped. I experienced a nervous breakdown that never needed to happen. That was the moment lawfare stopped being “just paperwork” and became physical: migraines, sleepless nights, chest tightness, and a brain permanently stuck in survival mode.
The same people who were supposed to defend my rights—lawyers, judges, and police—became the root cause of my disability. Instead of having professionals handle the legal system, I was forced into DIY law: assembling my own records, writing my own complaints, tracking my own deadlines, chasing my own evidence.
